The Pan African Parliament,1.RECALLING that Mr Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations and an eminent son of Africa, was elected to this post following a proposal from the African Group at the United Nations;2.APPRECIATING the Secretary General’s devotion to the achievement of the purposes of the United Nations, as enshrined in its Charter;3.RECOGNISING with satisfaction Mr Kofi Annan’s deep commitment to reform the United Nations in order to meet the current international environment for the betterment of humanity;4.COMMENDING him for his distinguished career for the peoples of the United Nations;THEREFORE EXPRESSES its support for Mr Kofi Annan, as Secretary-General of the UN, and wishing him success throughout his tenure of office.
